  The 2007 Ford F350 AC Accumulator is part of the vehicle's air conditioning system. The AC accumulator performs a similar task as that of the receiver drier, except that it is usually much bigger and operates on the low-pressure end of the refrigerant mechanism. A desiccant bag inside of the AC accumulator soaks up water and grabs onto debris.

  It is imperative to replace the AC accumulator whenever the vehicle's A/C system is exposed to the outside air, because the desiccant inside will absorb water from the air until it is totally saturated and unable to effectively perform. This causes excess water in the system that will destroy seals and o-rings inside of the A/C unit. It can also cause the orifice tube or expansion valve to become frozen, which decreases or completely stops the flow of refrigerant to the air conditioning system.

  If your a/c system is blowing little to no cool air, it is likely that the AC accumulator needs to be replaced. It is also a general rule of thumb to replace the accumulator any time the AC compressor is replaced.
