Ford Racing Makes GIANT Mustang Brake Kit Available

Ford Racing has introduced a huge new Brembo brake package for the 2005 and up Mustang, and it is a beauty.

The new big brake kit from Brembo for 2005 and up Stang's is HUGE. Very cool.

Huge is the only word to describe these 15-inch rotors with six-piston calipers. If you want to mount these on your Mustang, you’re going to need some pretty big wheels. Ford recommends the Boss 302, Track Pack, or SVT 19x9 wheels to make room for this oversized kit, as the standard OEM wheels won't clear.

As you probably already know, big brake kits improve braking performance in one very specific way: they reduce heat build-up.

Brakes are friction devices, and friction produces heat. As heat builds up, braking efficiency can lower drastically. By installing larger rotors on your vehicle, you're increasing the surface area of the metal that conducts heat away from the brake system. Lower temps reduce brake fade and usually improve pad life (depending on the type of pads you've got installed).

Because this is an OEM Ford system, you know that factory brake bias will be maintained. That means that you'll see the same or better braking distances after installing this kit (which isn't always the case with after-market kits).
