Ford Centennial Editions - A Photo Gallery
In 2002, Ford marked 100 years of production by releasing five new limited-edition vehicles. These three cars and two trucks were given the star treatment to celebrate Ford’s anniversary.
All vehicles came in black, and came outfitted with the following:
- Premium Verona-gram Imola leather seats with two-tone parchment
- 100th Anniversary badges on deck lids and sides
- Black leather owner’s guide with Henry Ford, Edsel Ford, Henry Ford II, and William Clay Ford Jr. signatures
- A special commemorative key chain and watch for drivers
- A copy of the limited edition The Ford Century book
Here’s what each model included:
Ford Mustang
The Ford Mustang Centennial coupe and convertible models have 17” premium alloy wheels, anti-lock brakes, traction control, dual exhaust, power driver’s seat with lumbar support, leather-wrapped steering wheel, and Mach 460 stereo with a six-disc CD player.
Ford Focus
The Centennial Edition Ford Focus sedan rolls on 16” aluminum wheels, has a special rear spoiler, fog lights, leather-wrapped steering wheel, tilt and telescoping steering column, AM/FM stereo with CD and MP3 player, and lumbar support in the driver’s seat.
Ford Explorer
Ford’s Centennial Edition Explorer four-door sits on 17” chrome wheels, has a chrome roof rack and grille, power front seats, fog lights, AM/FM stereo with in-dash six-disc CD player, leather-wrapped steering wheel, and leather-wrapped center console.
Ford Taurus
This Centennial Edition sedan has 16” machined wheels, AM/FM stereo with six-disc CD player, power driver’s seat, anti-lock brakes, power-adjustable pedals, automatic headlights, leather-wrapped steering wheel, leather-wrapped center armrest, simulated wood door panel trim and instrument panel, and an anti-theft system.
Ford F-Series Super Duty Crew Cab
The F-Series Super Duty Crew Cab Centennial Edition was made with a leather-wrapped steering wheel, leather-wrapped center console, an overhead storage console, a sliding rear window, power driver’s seat, privacy glass, power windows, and color-keyed rear bumper.
Production was limited to only 3,000 Mustangs, Focus models, and Super Duty modes, and 4,000 Explorers, and Taurus models. These will make excellent collector cars when they reach classic status. In the meantime, enjoy the drive if you are lucky enough to have one of these slick rides!
