Europe Gets New Beefed Up Fiesta ST200
Set to premier at the Geneva Motor Show in a few days, European drivers are getting a spicy ST200 Ford Fiesta. This model will be even more powerful than the already pretty darn sweet Fiesta. A highlight of the upgraded model is a 197 horsepower/214 lb-ft of torque 1.6L EcoBoost engine. The cherry on top? A temporary overboost will allow for 212hp/236 lbs-ft of torque.
More Power Than Before
The ST200 upgrades are hearty improvement over the ST in Europe, currently. The current model makes 180 horsepower and 177 lb-ft of torque. In the U.S., our Fiestas make a decent 197hp/202 lbs-ft of torque, but the ST200 would still be a welcomed addition to the lineup.
It’s extra power helps the Fiesta reach 62 miles per hour in 6.9 seconds, and tops out at 139 miles per hour.
As for the appearance, AutoBlog.com explains:
“The ST200's appearance remains subdued, despite the extra performance. The exterior is available in a bland exclusive color called Storm Grey, and it rides on 17-inch matte black wheels with machined details. Red brake calipers provide a pop of color. Inside, front passengers sit in partial-leather Recaro sport seats with contrasting silver stitching.”
This may be a European specific vehicle, but here’s to hoping we’ll see some fresh meat in the lineup soon for the United States.
